CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Ron Sanchez, UVA basketball’s interim head coach, is out as the program’s complete-time chief.
In keeping with a UVA Athletics information launch, Athletics Director Carla Williams declared the choice Wednesday, March twelve.
“I am grateful to Coach Sanchez for accepting this role for the duration of such a significant time for the program,” Williams claimed, based on the news release. “Ron and also the team provided wonderful steadiness, guidance and support for your young Adult males to the group and we've been thankful for his motivation to UVA along with the values which have been foundational to Virginia men’s basketball.”
Sanchez was named Virginia’s interim head coach in Oct when Tony Bennett incredibly retired a few months chelsea prior to the year begun.
Virginia concluded this period that has a record of 15-seventeen.
Sanchez has long been a Portion of UVA’s basketball program for 11 seasons, ten as an assistant to Bennett.
